  • 03 Oct 2016 - Llanos del Yari, Colombia - The UN Mission in Colombia verified today the destruction of 620 kg of explosives, detonators, gunpowder, grenades, mines, and bomb making components by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army (FARC-EP). The destruction was carried out in the Yari plains, Meta department, under the observation of experts and international observers from the UN Mission in the country.

    30 Sep 2016 - Bogota - Nine representatives of the Government of Colombia, an equal number of members from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia—People’s Army (FARC-EP) and 18 international observers from the UN Mission in the country have started working together at the joint Monitoring and Verification Mechanism HQ, in Bogota.

    16 Sep 2016 - Today, in the Llanos (grassy planes) of Yari, the High Commissioner for Peace Sergio Jaramillo, the Commander of the Strategic Transition Command (COET, in the Spanish acronym) General Javier Florez met with members of the FARC-EP Secretariat, accompanied by the chief of the UN Mission in Colombia Jean Arnault and his team.     15 Sep 2016 - Mission will be ready for ceasefire monitoring and verification on 26 September Bogotá –Following the United Nations Security Council’s unanimous support to the UN Mission in Colombia for the second time, the Mission is ready to begin verifying and monitoring the bilateral ceasefire and laying down of arms once the peace agreement is signed on 26 September.

    06 Sep 2016 - Popayan, Cauca, Colombia - The Government of Colombia, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – People’s Army (FARC-EP) and the United Nations Mission in the country have wrapped up a seven-day training session for 80 women and men who will take part in the tripartite mechanism in charge of monitoring and verifying the bilateral ceasefire and cessation of hostilities.
