The verification is coordinated with Colombian Military Forces that will provide security in the area.

  • 17 Nov 2016 - Bogotá - The tripartite Mechanism to monitor and verify the bilateral ceasefire and cessation of hostilities is investigating an incident that took place on November 13 in the municipality of Santa Rosa, south of the department of Bolivar, Colombia, which resulted in the deaths of two members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – People’s Army (FARC-EP). The situation of a third FARC-EP member, unharmed, is being investigated.

    31 Oct 2016 - New York/Bogotá - The United Nations Security Council sent a letter to the Secretary General today giving the green light to the UN Mission in Colombia to verify the ceasefire and cessation of hostilities, following a request from the the Government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia—People’s Army (FARC-EP).
