The United Nations Mission in Colombia completed its Security Council mandate on 26 September 2017. The United Nations continues to provide support to the peace process through the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia, established by Security Council resolution 2377 (2017).

11 Jan 2017 - Bogotá - The Regional Office of the tripartite Monitoring and Verification Mechanism in Florencia, department of Caquetá, is advancing the verification of possible clashes between two armed groups that took place in the vicinity of the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán. The verification is coordinated with Colombian Military Forces that will provide security in the area.
05 Jan 2017 - Bogotá - Following the investigation of the circumstances in which UN observers took part in celebrations at a FARC-EP Temporary Pre-Grouping Point on December 31 2016 the UN Mission in Colombia has decided to separate from service three observers present at the occasion, as well as their direct supervisor.

17 Nov 2016 - Bogotá - The tripartite Mechanism to monitor and verify the bilateral ceasefire and cessation of hostilities is investigating an incident that took place on November 13 in the municipality of Santa Rosa, south of the department of Bolivar, Colombia, which resulted in the deaths of two members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – People’s Army (FARC-EP). The situation of a third FARC-EP member, unharmed, is being investigated.
